[1999/Mar/29] Denis Welch doesn't just do race cars. In fact, he doesn't just do Healeys. However, building and preparing Big Healeys for racing is his speciality and his results, his son Jeremy's results and his customers' results show that he applies it better than anyone. Some of his competition range is also available through other Healey specialists, and his competition parts catalogue is now available on the web. Denis and his son are active Healey racers in the UK/European scene. They sell all kinds of goodies, mostly related to hotting up your Healey. Many of them are manufactured in-house as a result of their own track testing (Denis usually wins!!). We are talking things like new cast alloys heads, manifolds, 4/6 branch manifolds and free flow exhausts, uprated brake systems, etc, etc... They also do race prep and engine work on customer's cars. I have used them for many things over the years and can recommend them on quality and service. Dennis still publishes his catalog and his parts are excellent. It is my understanding that he does not sell his parts through distributors so you have to go directly to him. They have some unique parts such as modified tappets for improved oil flow, Alfin style brake drums for 100s, lightened flywheels, and other items. -- <JMcelrat@bdm.com>
