[2009/May/29] All good things must come to an end; University motors will close on 1 July 2009.

[2000/Jul/2] I had the generator for my TC rebuilt by University Motors. About a year later I got the car running and the generator quit working after about 30 miles. Initial inspection revealed that the brushes were installed crookedly, I set them up correctly and it still didn't work. I bought another generator in the meanwhile. Further, I shipped the front fenders off my TC to this concern for repair. They were in fairly bad shape. I did this for I expected they would do a very good job on them, such a getting the correct contour on the tips etc. When I got them back the job was about half finished. The repair work was very rough. I sent a letter to John Twist and he replied with a very sarcastic and personal letter. With the shipping and crating involved, along with the exorbitant price, I could have almost purchased reproduction fenders, not to mention that a local shop would have done at a better job at half the price. -- Tom Caperton <caperton@cybermesa.com>
