[2021/Oct/15] [vendor supplied] As most of you are probably aware by now, during the early morning hours of Sept. 2nd Nisonger's facility was buried under 6 feet of water as Hurricane Ida passed through the New York area. A substantial portion of our irreplaceable repair parts inventory along with numerous pieces of Test Equipment were damaged or destroyed. After lengthy consideration, we do not feel that we will be able to provide the level of repair and restoration service going forward for which we have become so well-known and respected, thus: Effective October 15th, Nisonger Instruments will devote its full efforts to the Sale of Classic Smiths & Smiths OEM Replacement Gauges for the AC/Shelby Cobras & GT40s.

[2013/Oct/28] I sent in the speedo from my '68 T120 back in April. Got it back in about a month. Put it on the bike and within 25 miles the trip odo quit. I sent it back. They replaced the frame of the trip odo. It was apparently broken. They implied that I had broken it by turning the re-set knob the wrong direction. I have owned this bike since 1972. I'm pretty well aware of the need to turn the thing clockwise. Got the gauge back, drove 50 miles. Quit again. Called them. He again implied that I broke it. I requested that they pay the shipping this time. No dice. The guy was getting to the point of being rude on the phone. He said it was working perfectly when it left their shop. I'm going to send it back one more time, but I sure won't do business with them again, nor recommend them to anyone. -- Brian Mills <brian-mills@comcast.net>

[2010/Sep/23] I just received after a 6 month wait Smiths chronometric speedo from Bob at Nisonger, Mamaroneck, NY. Over $500 for conversion from model 467 to 433 with case paint, new glass and bevel. The simple gloss black paint job has runs and has been stored in bubble wrap right after painting, because it has taken on a leopard skin, tone on tone look; it has a rusty glass retainer ring , beat up, dented and scratched new chrome bezel ring, incorrect thread nuts run on the two mounting studs, black paint touched up near the reset knob with a Sharpie pen after the case (new black leopard paint) was scratched putting on the knob with a used cotter pin. The six months wait for the graphics was a total waste of time and effort on Nisongers part, muddy graphics, crooked text lines, zig zag edges on angle lines like a poor printer produces. An absolute waste of time and money on my part. There are many hi quality Smiths repair facilities in the USA and UK and Nisonger is not one of them. At $500 I would have expected to be ecstatic, instead I am thoroughly disappointed and disgusted. -- HuskyClub <husky@huskyclub.com>

[2009/Jul/24] I had similar issue with Nisonger recently. I sent my entire set of TR3 gauges with a note as to what I wanted done and to call with an estimate. When I did not hear from them I called to check status. They had already "rebuilt" most of the gauges(including a tachometer that I had indicated in the not needed only minor clean up of face and glass. My Temp gauge which was the only one that needed a true rebuild was sent back without change as they said they could not rebuild it because the needle was broken. ( I did not understand that as I had a broken needle on an oil pressure gauge and simply pulled it off and put a new one on.) I will certainly look for an alternative on my next gauge need and in any case if you send things to Nisonger I would suggest putting in a note that does not include your credit card info so they will definitely call you before they begin. -- <dgriffin013@nc.rr.com>

[2008/Sep/26] I have no idea whom now owns "Nissongers", they still have the same address and phone number and same answers. I recently sent a very small "SMITH"S dash clock up just to have cleaned and checked over, it has just 2 screws holding the back on and then 3 small screws to gain access to the inner gears and working. They charged me $50.00 TO REMOVE TWO SCREWS, THEN $90.00 TO REMOVE 3 SCREWS, AND $45.00 to CLEAN the clock up, $140 to take apart, and $50. TO CLEAN IT, $190.00 TOTAL TO CLEAN AND REPAIR A DASH INSTRUMENT CLOCK. I used Nisonger many times I've never hada problem always fair pricing, most on the clock shops listed in Hemmings have ads for $45.00 for repairing a clock, it's just I've used and trusted Nisonger before, they had no ads in Hemmings but I thought for sure they would be as they always are with same comparable pricing. They did not even have the business sense to call me and inform me of the price difference, they used my account that I have had with them for over 20 years and billed me for $195.00. Never again will I use them and I sure hope TRiumph owners across the country will follow suit. Stay away. Thanks. -- "fred thomas" <frede.thomas2@verizon.net>
