[17 Aug 2016] Jeff finally retired and sold the shop. The new shop is: http://www.britishstandardmotors.com/ -- <thenicholls@verizon.net>

[7 Apr 1998] Needed another GT6 m/c kit; even they didn't have it in stock this time but found it for me and got it to me quick. -- Chris Kantarjiev

The little Healey specialist." Sprite/Midget catalog. TR-7 catalog. MGB catalog. Spitfire catalog. Motorhead had the GT6 master cylinder rebuild kit I needed in stock when no one else in the country did. They do Triumphs, too. - Chris Kent Kantarjiev <cak@parc.xerox.com>

Motorhead have been honest and forthcoming in my previous dealings with them. - Pete Andrews, andrews_pf@salem.ge.com

My experiences with Motorhead (with a corporate account, no less) were so poor that I tossed their catalogs and pulled their number from the call list. - Randy Wilson, randy@taylor.infi.net

I've had top-notch service, advice, and parts from Motorhead since 1982. I don't know if Jeff Burns still works there, but he was crucial in helping me learn to work on my Sprite. They even spent the time to coach my mom through replacing a roll up side window in the car after my dad broke it while I was off at school and winter was fast approaching many years back (She did a great job! ). Motorhead has been particularly good about selling good used parts to struggling youngsters trying to afford wonderful LBCs. - Mark_Banaszak-Holl@brown.edu

I have had lots of dealings with Motorhead in the past. I have a whole collection of receipts with Keith Jackson's name on them. The people who work there are great, especially Keith and the owner. But, I later found out that their prices were for the most part outrageous. But, they do have a great selection of used parts above the main store. - Dean Zywicki

DO order their catalogue; it's by far the most amusing LBC catalogue I've ever seen (not to mention helpful). They are like a small version of TRF; they're a local LBC repair company that's gone national. They often have hard-to-find parts, have an extensive used spares bin, and fast service. MH almost always has a top-rate mechanic around for technical questions, and they hold night classes on individual cars on an irregular basis (though I'm certain they publish a schedule or programme at some point). - FirDarreg@aol.com

In dealing with this local LBC shop/parts supplier off and on since 1980 find Motorhead to be responsive, honest and the source of really excellent advice on service and repair of my Triumphs (TR-6/GT-6). The shop is manned by three full time professional mechanics, one of which does engine, tranmission and gearbox rebuilds, and one part-timer (who works nearly a full schedule at MH and teaches FT automotive shop in an Arlington high school. Each of these guys has an LBC...in fact, three have several, including 3 Morgans, a Mini, 2 GT-6s, a midget, bugeye sprite, a TR-6, and a TR-250. They know LBCs! If MH is expensive, it is because they do a complete job, replacing all worn or damaged parts during a repair, including seals, gaskets and hardware, but I have found that their rates and costs are competitive. I have really appreciated the fact that they don't button the car up without disclosing additional work which would require duplicate diassembly and labor, are generous with advice and patient about stupid owner mistakes (particularly important for me). As a small company, the parts department exists primarily to support the repair end of the busines, and is possibly understaffed for the national role customer demand has created. Despite that, the owner (Jeff Burns) and the other parts guys are valiant in their efforts to expeditiously satisfy requests for parts, information and catalogs. They are expert on those unusual or unique parts and have amazing treasures hidden in nooks and crannies. I have particularly appreciated their dedication in making arrangements for parts from their competitors when they have been unable to supply me from stock, once even though the MH was lower than the competitor price. A really fun place with which to do business!!! "Peter Mchugh" <PMCHUGH@mail.hq.faa.gov>
