Just got off the phone with Mike Needham, who runs a side business called Mike's Metal Massage in New Orleans. He does custom aluminum body work at what seem to be reasonable prices - e.g. a Lotus 7 nose for $750. I haven't seen his work, so I can't vouch for it, but he might be worth checking out if you're in the market. He's been doing it for a while, so I'm sure you can get references; he'll take fiberglass as a model and modify it to suit, if you're interested in that kind of work.
