[2001/Aug/16] Up until a couple of months ago I had been using the typical yellow ratchet straps that most rallyists use to tie cars down to the trailer. On a long run to Seattle I had one of the straps (a brand new one) wear totally through and break. A second one was half worn through. Our sweep team directed me to this place. Upon showing them my broken strap, the owner declared that the broken strap was rated for 5000 pounds, whereas the lightest webbing he sells is rated for 12,500 pounds, plus has all other features (ratchet, hooks, etc) are much more heavy duty. You must custom order the strap to whatever length you wish and he then fabricates it. I ordered two 10' ratchet straps for $29.95 each ($10 less than I had paid for the 5,000 strap) and picked them up the next day. In addition I ordered four 24" axle straps - also rated at 12,500 pounds - very expensive at $10 each! -- Ross Wood <rosswood@aztec-net.com>
