Bob is now (2/96) apparently the US Westfield importer. Our good friend and buddy, Bob Yarwood, formerly proprietor of British Parts Direct, has changed the name of his business. (Others have characterized this as an expansion. - George_N_Haynes.Wbst207V@xerox.com) now operates the Vintage MG Racing Service. I would suspect that, in spite of the name change, the quality and "service" (used very loosely in this context) have seen no more vast improvements than the last time he changed the name of his business. (And to cover my ass, I'll say I might be wrong). I believe I still have a few of the testimonials regarding his shoddy workmanship and after-the-sale surliness that earned him this ignominy. For those who may not have heard of him, don't be fooled by his prices, almost too low to be believed. They are too low to be believed. Take heed. You can't see the problem when you get the part. The cases I remember off the top of my head are a poorly ground cam, a pre- cracked crank, poorly machined roller rockers, and a leaky block. Just looking at any one of these parts would show nothing wrong. The rockers and block actually got installed in cars before the problems were realized. I believe Miq Millman was the one to peg the bad cam before he put it in the car, and upon recommendations from the brit-cars list, whoever bought the crank had the sense to get it magnafluxed before putting it in an engine. I still have my rocker shaft with the rockers wedged on it. - Andy Banta (banta@abingdon.sun.com)

Oct 22, 93 British Parts Direct, Colin and Bob, previously in northern Calif., and now near Eugene, Oregon have been a good source of fast, reasonably priced, good engine parts for my MGB.'s. Get one of their catalogues....anyone else have good results with these folks??..They order direct out of UK and know their stuff, I think they also race, anyway, they rebuild lots of motors too...and their complete MGB motor kit is a good deal with recon, crank and cam and a good stack of parts.. -Jim Fink, RTIK207@orange.cc.utexas.edu
