Manufacturer of tops and tonneaus sold by TRF and others. "I had a TR7 top installed there and they did a beautiful job. They're open M-F 7:30-5pm. FYI I priced a TR7 tonneau with installation and they quoted me $274." -- Sharon Oblinger, c340808@is6.mdc.com

"In Spring 1995 I installed a Robbins top on a 1972 Spitfire Mk. IV. The quality was excellent, as was the fit. My only criticism was that the top might possibly have been about 1/8" too narrow across the header rail, but that does not affect the looks or performance of the top. Also, the hardware package was one button snap short, easily compensated for by using fewer on the inside where the top snaps to the center frame bow. They included no installation instructions; they recommend professional installation. However, there is no reason why anyone with patience and a few simple tools could not do a 'professional' job in a day. "I asked why Robbins does NOT install the snaps on their Spitfire Mk.IV tops (and most others). Their explanation: over the years, enough of these cars have been repaired, repainted, etc. to the extent that fasteners on the body might have been repositioned, if only slightly. Needless to say, it's easier to fit snaps to a top than to reposition their counterparts on a freshly painted car (or to remove existing snaps and leave holes in a new top). They do install most snaps and other attachment hardware on late MGB tops, but that's about it." -- Andrew Mace, amace@unix2.nysed.gov
