[1999/Nov/14] The Austin Healey Store in El Segundo, CA is no more. It is a sad story. The used parts inventory was bought by British Car Specialists and, after some months of struggle, they have it pretty well inventoried and located. The rest, sadly, is history. -- Roland Wilhelmy <rwil@cts.com>

[1997/Nov/20] Gary Neuer has sold the business to Ray Cargould. Gary has relocated to Santa Cruz, CA and is no longer in the LBC business. Ask for Tom Colby or Gary Neuer.

[1997/Sep/5] Sadly, this information is no longer correct; they have moved the operation, and Colby and Neuer have moved on. Tom Colby is now running SpeedWell Engineering (and has since 1990).

[1994] I know a source for the complete Spridget CR gearbox. They will be able to answer your questions. (Tom & Gary are old pals from when I used to live down there; they also build some really seriously fast Sprites and also Big Healeys for vintage racing.) The gear ratios were changed between the smooth- and the rib-case gearboxes, but the racing CR 'box is a different animal altogether. I believe the one they talk about has straight-cut gears.
