I have recently had my 1933 Austin 7 radiator re-cored by him, and an excellent and prompt service it was too. Gerry spends most of his time doing restoration/refabrication work for the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, and as such radiators, intercoolers etc for Spitfires (no - not Triumph you silly boy), Hurricanes and Bleheims etc are commmon requirements. When my rad was in, it shared a bench with the rad from the Beaulieu Prince Henry Vauxhall along with a scratch built rad for a 1902 Peerless Green Dragon built from photos of the original car. He is quite at home with commisions from the colonies, as again, when I was there, he had to ask me not to trip over a load of aircraft parts just sent to him from Australia. From the above, you might well think his services to be expensive, but my experience was that his bill was appreciably cheaper than quotes I had from other sources. He is a helpful chap, geniunely interested in his work, and appears to relish the out of the ordinary. I cannot praise him highly enough. -- Hugh Barnes <barnes_h@admin.cam.ac.uk>
